Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly clashed with his assistant coach, Davide Ancelotti, over Arda Guler's playing time. The news comes from MARCA, who say that the latter wishes to make the Turkey international a regular starter, something that the head coach is opposed to (via Madrid Universal).
It is claimed that the former Everton boss is unconvinced of Guler, a player who has been given three starts in La Liga this year. However, it is extremely difficult for the youngster to get ahead of some of the names that occupy his roles on the pitch.
Last year, the likes of Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo were starting ahead of Guler, a trend that has continued this campaign as well. Overall, he's managed 10 appearances across competitions this season and is yet to register a goal contribution.
However, the 19-year-old did prove to be influential when given a chance in the previous season. From his 12 appearances across competitions, Guler netted six times. His playing time was cut short thanks to injury, which saw him miss 29 matches across competitions for club and country.
The attacker signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 from Fenerbahce for a reported fee of €30 million. It may be difficult for him to push for a move away, with the player contracted at the Santiago Bernabeu till 2029.
It is likely that Los Blancos would demand a significantly high transfer fee to let go of Guler in the near future.
