Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating a move for Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson.

According to Defensa Central, Los Blancos are keen on Robertson, 28, as they look to bolster their defensive options. However, the Scot won't come cheaply, with the Reds reportedly slapping a €45-50 million price tag on the left-back.

Robertson has been at Anfield for six years, establishing himself as one of Europe's best left-backs. He has made 43 appearances across competitions this season, providing 11 assists.

Real Madrid know all about the talents Robertson possesses, having come up against him in the UEFA Champions League three years in a row. The Scot has three years left in his contract with Liverpool but could be tempted for a new adventure.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti is likely to be in the market for a new left-back, with Ferland Mendy expected to leave this summer. They will need to replace the Frenchman, and Robertson may be considered as an improvement.

Liverpool boss Klopp hailed Robertson as the best left-back in Europe last season. The German tactician told the club's website:

“For me, absolutely (Robertson is the best). Outstanding player and, again, the mix of his skillset and his mentality, that makes him so special."

The Reds full-back has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup. He has made over 260 appearances at Anfield across competitions, hence he boasts proven European pedigree.

Barcelona have edge over Real Madrid for Liverpool's out-of-contract Roberto Firmino

Barca are favourites to sign soon-to-be free agent Firmino.
Barca are favourites to sign soon-to-be free agent Firmino.

Roberto Firmino has decided to leave the Merseysiders when his contract expires at the end of the season. There have been plenty of potential suitors mooted for a move for the Brazilian.

El Clasico rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are both in the race to sign Firmino. However, it's the Blaugrana who reportedly have a slight advantage, as they are pushing harder to lure him to the Camp Nou.

Both sides appear to want to sign Firmino as a backup striker to their respective frontmen Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema. The Liverpool legend has bagged 12 goals and provided five assists in 34 games this season.

Real Madrid have endured a mixed season and are expected to make changes in the summer. However, a new striker isn't exactly at the top of their agenda, with Karim Benzema set to extend his stay by one more season.
