Real Madrid have been handed a major injury boost as 24-year-old midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has returned to training with the team. The midfield dynamo endured a spell on the sidelines after getting injured back in early November.
Ahead of their 2-0 win over Getafe on December 1, Carlo Ancelotti provided an update on some injured players, including the Frenchman. He said to the press (via World Soccer Talk):
“Rodrygo is back tomorrow, Tchouameni the next game, soon Alaba will be back, Camavinga will soon return… We have to get through this moment with a good attitude and commitment because good things are yet to come.”
However, Aurelien Tchouameni did not play in the Getafe match. He was not even included in the matchday squad, which meant the 24-year-old was still on his return to fitness.
He seems to be fully fit now, though, as he was pictured in training with his teammates earlier today (December 3):
Real Madrid are set to face Athletic Club Bilbao tomorrow (December 4) at San Mames, and Tchouameni will hope he can participate. He has played 15 games across all competitions this season.
During Los Blancos' match against AC Milan on November 5, Tchouameni played the first 45 minutes. He notably made an error that led to Milan's second goal in that game but endured an ankle sprain, and he was unable to return for the second half. The Italian giants eventually won the Champions League match 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Carlo Ancelotti speaks about Real Madrid superstar after Getafe win
Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe after their 2-0 win over Getafe on December 1. The 25-year-old scored their second goal of the game (38') with a deft touch that set the ball up for a perfect shot on goal.
Although his goal was impressive, it is worth noting that the former Paris Saint-Germain striker has struggled to make a big impact at the Bernabeu. He notably went unnoticed in their mid-week match against Liverpool, even missing a penalty. After the Getafe win, the Italian manager told the press (via 90min):
"His [Mbappe's] problem is everyone's problem. We must try to get the best out of ourselves: his, mine and that of other players... Our idea is to improve and do everything possible to achieve that. Mbappe's idea is the same as everyone else's.
"He is aware that he has to do better and he will try, like everyone else. The Liverpool game is centred on him because he missed the penalty, but many have missed a penalty, and we have to try to continue supporting and think that it is a collective problem."
Kylian Mbappe will likely partake in Real Madrid's upcoming match against Athletic Club Bilbao, where he will look to add to his tally of eight goals in 13 La Liga games.
