Real Madrid have set their sights on Willian Pacho, according to Fichajes.net. The reigning LaLiga champions are eyeing multiple targets to bolster their backline ahead of next year and also have the Ecuadorian on their radar.
Pacho has gone from strength to strength since joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Eintracht Frankfurt in a reported €40m move this summer. The 23-year-old has been a first team regular under Luis Enrique and has subsequently turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Los Blancos have suffered due to injury troubles at the back this season. David Alaba is still out with the ACL injury that he picked up in December last year. Eder Militao has now joined the Canadian on the sidelines earlier this month.
The LaLiga giants are suddenly short of defenders and are looking to address the position in 2025. Real Madrid have set their sights on Pacho, who fits the profile of players admired by the club.
The Ecuadorian is great at one-on-one defending and is also very good with the ball at his feet. However, prising him away from the Parc des Princes won't be easy.
Pacho is under contract with the Parisians until 2029, so they hold the upper hand in any negotiations. The LaLiga champions, meanwhile, have a strained relationship with their French counterparts due to the Kylian Mbappe saga.
Pacho is aware of the interest from Real Madrid but remains focused on PSG for now. However, the opportunity to wear the fabled white shirt could be too hard for the player to turn down.
When is Real Madrid's next game?
Real Madrid return to action on Sunday, November 24, at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque in LaLiga. The reigning LaLiga champions arrive at the game on the back of a 4-0 win over Osasuna before the international break.
Carlo Ancelotti's team have won eight of their 12 games in the league, scoring 25 and conceding 11. They are second in the league table, six points behind leaders Barcelona.
The Catalans have played a game more and have been a force under Hansi Flick this season. They have won 11 of their 13 games in the league, including a 4-0 routing of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last month.
Carlo Ancelotti is yet to get the best out of Kylian Mbappe, who joined the LaLiga champions over the summer. The Frenchman has registered eight goals from 16 games across competitions this season.
