Real Madrid are interested in signing Éderson of Atalanta BC, according to a recent publication by Real Madrid Confidencial (via Madrid Universal). This comes after the Brazilian has proven to be a key player in Atalanta's midfield this season.
Los Blancos's interest in signing Éderson could be linked to the departure of Toni Kroos. Hence, they could be looking to fill the void that was created by the German international's departure. Meanwhile, Éderson could also be viewed as a long-term replacement for Luka Modric whose contract at Madrid expires in the summer.
Primarily a central midfielder, Éderson could also feature as a defensive and attacking midfielder. Hence, his versatility could benefit Madrid if signed. In 23 appearances, the Brazilian has scored two goals and registered one assist this season.
Éderson is valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt and he's contracted at Atalanta BC till June 2027. However, the Italian side would demand at least €70 million from clubs that are interested in signing him.
The aforementioned report also claims that Madrid are yet to submit a bid for Éderson. But it is believed that his signing could be key in achieving their future plans.
Los Blancos would also have to defeat Manchester United who have shown considerable interest in signing the 25-year-old.
