Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is reportedly not on Real Madrid’s transfer radar. Of late, Los Blancos have been linked with an interest in Kimmich, especially with the German’s contract at the Allianz Arena expiring at the end of the season.
Toni Kroos’ departure has undeniably left a huge gap in Real Madrid’s midfield, which has been evident in the decline in their strength this season. To make matters worse, Aurelien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga, who were expected to fill the big shoes that Kroos left, have struggled to make an impact this season.
While the Merengues are now looking to add more talent to their squad, Joshua Kimmich is not even in the plans, according to Diario AS. Their top transfer targets at the moment are defenders Jonathan Tah, Alphonso Davies, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Los Blancos are hoping to sign the trio on a free transfer as their contracts with their respective clubs will expire at the end of the season. They are also interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s ace Florian Wirtz, who is valued at €130 million.
While Real Madrid are not prioritizing a move for Kimmich, they haven’t completely closed the door on the Germany international. They are open to signing a viable midfielder, and the Bayern midfielder is one who could fit in given the fact that he's available for free next summer.
As per the abovementioned source, Madrid are poised to sign Wirtz, as they see him as an apt replacement for their Kroos.
Aymeric Laporte open to joining Real Madrid – Reports
Al-Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte has expressed his desire to move to Real Madrid if the opportunity arises. The Spanish giants have their nets wide looking for defensive reinforcements following the injury woes that have plagued their defensive department this season.
Eder Militao and Lucas Vazquez become the latest injury concerns for Los Blancos. The former tore his ACL while the latter suffered an adductor strain in their side’s 4-0 win over Osasuna last weekend (November 9). The injury woes have forced the club to reconsider its longstanding principle of not signing players in the middle of the season.
Aymeric Laporte has emerged as one of the players that the Spanish giants are considering for their defensive reinforcement, according to ESPN. The Spaniard is also considering the idea of returning to Europe and joining Los Blancos. The Al-Nassr man revealed in an interview with El Larguero:
''Obviously, I would LISTEN to the call of Real Madrid. Teams like that are not to be DESPISED"
Laporte joined Al-Nassr from Manchester City in 2023 for a reported fee of €27.5 million. During his time in Europe, he also played for Spanish side Athletic Bilbao.
