Real Madrid are reportedly set to offload Aurélien Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy, and Lucas Vazquez, according to a report by Fichajes.net. This comes after Los Blancos suffered a 2-5 defeat against Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana on Sunday, January 12.
Tchouaméni has struggled as a makeshift centre-back for Madrid this season. The Frenchman has also been responsible for some errors that have made Madrid concede in defense. Thus, Madrid are reportedly willing to sell him as he has been linked with Liverpool in recent months.
Tchouaméni has registered 23 appearances for Madrid this season and he's contracted at the Bernabeu till June 2028. Given his €80 million transfer value according to Transfermarkt, the proceeds from his potential sale could be used in signing a new midfielder.
Meanwhile, Mendy's performance has dipped this season having failed to register a goal contribution in 20 games. On the flip side, his contract at the Bernabeu is set to expire in the summer.
Fichajes.net claims that the Frenchman has asked for a salary increase. However, Madrid are reported unwilling to fulfill his demand. This might imply that they might be willing to offload him at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Finally, Vazquez is also one of the players whose contract at the Bernabeu expires in the summer. The Spaniard's performance at right-back has also been inconsistent.
Madrid's pursuit of Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold could also be an indication that they could offload Vazquez. In 25 appearances, the Spaniard has scored two goals and registered three assists this season.
