Real Madrid reportedly set to rival Barcelona for 18-year-old Spanish starlet.

Real Madrid are reportedly set to rival Barcelona for the signing of Malaga starlet Antonio Cordero in the upcoming January transfer window. The 18-year-old Spaniard is currently playing in the Segunda Division with Malaga, where he is contracted until the summer of 2025.

MARCA report that Cordero is attracting attention from the two arch-rivals. Barcelona and Real Madrid attempted to sign the winger last summer but Malaga turned down their advancements.

But with his contract with the Segunda Division side expiring in a few months, the LaLiga giants have learned that Cordero is not interested in a contract renewal. This also opens the door for both clubs to make an offer to sign the young talent in the January transfer window.

Cordero has recorded three goals and three assists in 13 appearances across competitions for Malaga so far this season. He can grow into an asset for the two Spanish giants if he makes the move next year, or later.

Barcelona boss reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid transfer target Alphonso Davies

El Nacional report that Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is keen on signing Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies. The Canada international has reportedly been on Real Madrid's transfer target list for a while now. The 24-year-old left-back will be a free agent soon as his contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in the summer of 2025.

Davies has contributed to eight clean sheets in 15 appearances while recording three assists for Bayern Munich so far this season. He will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement in January to join another side at the end of the 2024-25 term.

Hansi Flick worked with Alphonso Davies previously for two seasons during their time together at Bayern Munich. Madrid, meanwhile, have reportedly been trying to acquire the Canadian full-back's signature for a while.

Recent reports have also linked Manchester United with a move for Davies. The Red Devils have struggled in the left-back position for a while now, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia spending lengthy spells on the sidelines.

The duo have, however, now returned to full training.
