Real Madrid defender Nacho has reportedly received a two-year contract offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Spaniard's contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expired at the end of the season.
A graduate of Real Madrid's academy, he made his senior debut in the 2010-11 La Liga campaign. He made a staggering 111 appearances for Real's B side, the Castilla, and became a regular member of Real's first team from the 2012-13 season onwards.
Despite being behind stars like Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Pepe for the majority of his career, Nacho has regularly turned in solid performances when called upon. He has made 364 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions, with 16 goals and 10 assists to his name.
The centre-back was named club captain after Karim Benzema left for Al Ittihad at the start of the 2023-24 campaign. In his first and only season as skipper, he lifted the La Liga, Champions League and Supercopa de Espana titles.
Before Al-Qadsiah's offer, Nacho was rumored to be joining former teammate Benzema at Al Ittihad, but that deal is supposedly put on hold.
The former recently won promotion to the Saudi Pro League after winning the 2023-24 Saudi First Division League, the second tier of football in the country. Therefore, their offer to Nacho has come as somewhat of a surprise to fans and media alike.
However, the 34-year-old is believed to be seriously considering the offers from both Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad and is set to give his decision to Real Madrid in the coming days.
Real Madrid waiting for Nacho's decision to start negotiations for 18-year-old defensive phenomenon - Reports
According to reports from MARCA, Real Madrid are waiting for club icon Nacho's decision before they start their negotiations for Lille's 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro.
Yoro has been on Madrid's shortlist for a while now as a potential replacement for the outgoing 34-year-old. The Frenchman impressed fans with his ball-playing ability and defensive potential in his second full senior campaign.
The youngster scored three goals and helped his side keep an impeccable 20 clean sheets in his 44 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 season. After his splendid campaign, he has attracted interest from many top European sides, including Liverpool, Manchester United and, of course, Real Madrid.
However, Los Blancos seem to be in the driver's seat, with the wonderkid having expressed his desire to play for the club. Yet, they continue to wait for Nacho to confirm his departure before making any concrete moves for Yoro.
While Lille are expecting to receive around €50 million for their prized possession, MARCA reports that the Madrid outfit are aiming to secure a deal for around €40 million.
