AC Milan are eyeing a January loan move for Real Madrid's Brahmin Diaz, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Morocco international spent a considerable time on loan with the Serie A giants, who hold him in high regard.

Diaz initially joined the Rossoneri on loan in the summer of 2020. His stay at the San Siro was extended for two more seasons the following year.

Last summer, the 25-year-old return to the Santiago Bernabeu and signed a new contract with Los Blancos until 2027. In the 2023/24 season, the player registered 12 goals and nine assists as Real Madrid won the league, the Champions League and the Supercopa de Espana.

However, things haven't gone according to plan for Diaz this season, who has only 254 minutes of first team action under his belt so far. The Moroccan attacker has struggled with injuries, which the arrival of Kylian Mbappe has also pushed him down the pecking order.

AC Milan are attentive to the situation and could offer him a chance to get his career back on track. However, the Serie A giants are only proposing a temporary deal to take him away in January.

The player's ability to operate as a playmaker as well as in the right-forward role makes him an enticing prospect for Milan. The Italian club have already established contact to facilitate a move, although talks are currently at a preliminary stage.

Diaz has appeared just nine times across competitions for Real Madrid this season, registering one goal and two assists. Only two of those appearances have been from the start.

Real Madrid reportedly want to invest in a new defender at the turn of the year. Los Blancos are going through a defensive distress at the moment following Eder Militao's injury.

The Brazilian defender ruptured his ACL last weekend against Osasuna and is set to be sidelined for the rest of the season. The LaLiga giants are already without David Alaba, who picked up a similar injury in December last year and is yet to return to full fitness.

The situation has left Real Madrid with just Antonio Rudiger and Jesus Vallejo, who has just 10 minutes of first team action this season, as the senior center backs in the squad. Carlo Ancelotti is already under pressure following an indifferent start to the campaign.
