Brazilian attacker Vinicius Jr. is set to return for Real Madrid ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Atalanta on Tuesday, December 10, despite an injury scare, as per Diario AS. The Brazilian attacker sustained an injury in the bicep femoris of his left leg during Real Madrid's 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the UCL last month.
Vinicius was expected to miss at least three to four weeks of action due to the injury. However, as per the aforementioned report, the Brazilian attacker has accelerated his return to Los Blancos by shortening his recovery period by ten days.
The Brazilian attacker's early return to action would put him on the verge of risk. However, he has become a crucial part of Carlo Ancelotti's side over the years. Vinicius Jr. has made 18 appearances for Los Blancos this season, bagging 12 goals and eight assists across all competitions.
Real Madrid are currently second in LaLiga with 36 points in 16 matches, only behind Hansi Flick's Barcelona, who have accumulated 38 points in 17 games. However, they are 24th in the UEFA Champions League with only six points in five matches.
The LaLiga giants have suffered losses against the likes of LOSC Lille (1-0), AC Milan (3-1), and Liverpool (2-0). As a result, winning against Atalanta is important for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Real Madrid veteran set to leave the club for Italian side next summer: Reports
Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has reportedly agreed to join Italian side Como at the end of the season as a free agent, as per Fichajes.net. Aged 39, the Croatian veteran's contract with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit will expire next summer.
Modric joined the LaLiga giants from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2012 and has been an important part of their success. Making 556 appearances across all competitions, Luka Modric has bagged 39 goals and 90 assists for the side.
This season, he has only started six matches for Los Blancos in LaLiga and due to his age, Real Madrid no longer sees him as a part of their future squad plans.
Nevertheless, as per the aforementioned report, Modric will only join the club if they manage to stay in Serie A. Como are currently 17th in the league table with 12 points in 15 matches.
