Real Madrid secured a 3-2 win over Atalanta on Tuesday (December 10) in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham found the back of the net to secure all three points for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos have set their sights on an AC Milan full-back. Elsewhere, the LaLiga giants have entered the race for Enzo Fernandez.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from December 11, 2024.
Real Madrid eyeing Theo Hernandez
Real Madrid have identified Theo Hernandez as an alternative to Alphonso Davies, according to Calciomercato (via Madrid Universal). The LaLiga giants are looking to sign a new left-back in 2025 and are long-term admirers of the Canadian.
Davies is in the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich and hasn't signed a new deal yet. Los Blancos are planning to sign him on a Bosman move at the end of this campaign.
However, there's rising interest in the player's signature, which has prompted Real Madrid to keep their options ready. They are now planning to bring Hernandez back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Frenchman spent two seasons with Los Blancos but left to join AC Milan in 2019. Since then, he has transformed into one of the best left-backs in Italy.
The player's contract expires in 2026 and the Rossoneri are eager to tie him down to a new deal. However, they could also be willing to let him go for €50m next summer.
Los Blancos want Enzo Fernandez
Enzo Fernandez has turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Real Madrid Confidential (via Madrid Universal). The Argentine midfielder joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for a reported £106.8m fee.
While he endured a mixed start to his tenure at Stamford Bridge, he has been impressive of late under Enzo Maresca. The LaLiga champions have apparently identified him as a possible replacement for Toni Kroos, who retired this summer.
However, prising the 23-year-old away from the Blues won't be easy. The player is under contract until 2032 and is likely to cost a fortune. Atletico Madrid reportedly have their eyes on the Argentine as well, so Los Blancos won't have a free run at the player.
Sam Beukema opens up on Real Madrid links
Sam Beukema has remained coy about rumors linking him to a move to Real Madrid. The Dutch defender has been quite impressive for Bologna this season and has apparently earned admirers at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are in troubled waters with injuries at the back and are likely to invest in a new defender in 2025. Beukema is reportedly among the candidates on their shortlist.
However, speaking recently (as cited by Madrid Universal), Beukema insisted that he remains focused on Bologna.
“I am very proud to play in this team and I am focused on doing my best. At the end of the season, it will be seen. Although it’s always nice to read that kind of message,” said Beukema.
He continued:
“You can’t help but smile when you read something like that, but we’ll see at the end of the season. Now I just want to do the best possible with Bologna.”
Beukema's contract with the Serie A side runs until 2027.
