Real Madrid are second in LaLiga after 18 games, a point behind leaders Atletico Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti's team next face Valencia in the league on January 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are planning to bring three superstars to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2025. Elsewhere, Sevilla have set their sights on Lucas Vazquez.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from December 24, 2024.
Real Madrid eyeing three superstars in 2025
Real Madrid are planning to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alphonso Davies, and Florian Wirtz next summer, according to Real Madrid Confidencial (via Madrid Universal). The LaLiga champions are already planning for 2025 and have identified their targets for next summer.
Alexander-Arnold and Davies are both in the final year of their contracts with Liverpool and Bayern Munich, respectively. Both players have turned down multiple renewal offers and it now appears that they will be available for free next summer.
Los Blancos are leading the race for the duo and as things stand, could agree a pre-contract with the players at the turn of the year. Meanwhile, Real Madrid also have their eyes on Florian Wirtz, who has been outstanding for Bayer Leverkusen of late.
Last season, the German attacking midfielder powered the club to a domestic double, registering 18 goals and 20 assists from 49 games across competitions. He has already racked up 12 goals and eight assists from 25 games this campaign.
The LaLiga champions are pleased with his efforts and are ready to prise him away at the end of the season. It was previously believed that Wirtz would stay at the BayArena for another campaign, but it now appears that he could leave next summer.
However, the 21-year-old is under contract until 2027, so he is likely to cost a fortune. The Bundesliga champions are also eager to tie him down to a new deal.
Sevilla want Lucas Vazquez
Sevilla are planning to sign Lucas Vazquez at the end of this season, according to Fichajes.net. The Spaniard is a key part of Real Madrid's squad at the moment but his contract expires at the end of this season.
While Vasquez has been an able deputy to Dani Carvajal at the Santiago Bernabeu, his role could diminish with the impending arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold next summer. Multiple suitors across the continent are keeping a close watch on his situation, including Sevilla.
The Andalusian club are ready to offer the 33-year-old a two-year deal. Vazquez would apparently prefer to stay in Spain if he leaves Los Blancos, which could work to Sevilla's advantage.
Bayern Munich pushing for Alphonso Davies' renewal
Bayern Munich haven't given up hopes of tying Alphonso Davies down to a new deal, according to AS. The Canadian's contract at the Allianz Arena expires in just over six months and he hasn't signed an extension yet.
The report adds that Real Madrid have already reached an agreement on personal terms for a Bosman move next summer. Los Blancos are waiting for January when the deal can be signed to complete the move.
However, the Bavarians haven't thrown in the towel yet. Davies has lowered his salary demand to €15m per year, plus a €15m signing-on bonus. Bayern's last offer contained annual wages of €14m, but they are apparently preparing to return with an improved proposal in the coming days.
