Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are allegedly interested in signing Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Trossard, who left Brighton & Hove Albion in a potential £27 million sum in January 2023, has established himself as a key squad member for his team over the years. He has started 45 of his 81 overall appearances for the north London outfit, mainly playing as a left winger.
Now, according to Mirror, Al-Ittihad are aiming to launch a £40 million move to lure Trossard away from Arsenal. They were believed to be keen to sign the Belgian on a loan deal ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Trossard, who has registered 20 goals and 13 assists for the Gunners, is currently in the final 20 months of his contract. He could opt to join Al-Ittihad in order to bag a lucrative deal in the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have allegedly earmarked West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus as a replacement for Trossard. They are expected to face competition from Manchester City and Liverpool in the future.
Kudus, 24, has recorded 16 goals and seven assists in 55 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers since arriving in 2023.
Arsenal slammed after recent 1-0 league loss
Earlier this Saturday (November 2), Arsenal crashed to a 1-0 Premier League loss at Newcastle United. Alexander Isak rose highest to meet Anthony Gordon's cross in the 12th minute of the league encounter.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Gunners legend Martin Keown expressed his frustration following his former club's second league defeat of the season. He said (h/t Tribal Football):
"Well, obviously, it's still early in the season, but it's a long way back now with the lead that Manchester City have... and Liverpool. It's thoroughly disappointing. Arsenal just didn't impose their personality on this game at all."
Keown, who helped the Gunners lift three league titles, added:
"Credit to Newcastle. They sat in with a four and a five and one up top, and [the visitors] just didn't show enough today. They didn't get going at any point. They've really only got themselves to blame for that. They just didn't turn up today, didn't play the football we expected, didn't play like champions."
The Emirates Stadium club are fourth in the 2024-25 Premier League table with 18 points from 10 matches. While Liverpool are currently seven points ahead of them, Manchester City are second with 23 points.
