Juventus are reportedly interested in signing three Chelsea stars amidst their injury issues. Centre-back Gleison Bremer and left-back Juan Cabal have suffered ACL injury issues are both out for the season.
As per Fichajes.net, the Bianconeri are targeting three Chelsea players for a transfer in the January window. They are Ben Chilwell, Benoit Badiashile, and Cesare Casadei. The first two will be the direct replacements for Cabal and Bremer, respectively, while Casadei will help them strengthen their midfield.
Blues new manager Enzo Maresca has already confirmed that Ben Chilwell is not part of his plans. The Englishman has made just one appearance this season and has been linked with a move away since the summer. Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing Chilwell.
Benoit Badiashile, meanwhile, has also largely been on the sidelines for the west London side this season. He's made eight appearances across competitions, with only one of them coming in the Premier League. He could be a good replacement for Bremer but his contract ends in 2030 and could cost a lot.
Finally, Juventus have also monitored Cesare Casadei as a potential signing in January. He has made just four appearances across competitions this season but none of them in the Premier League. He hasn't even made Chelsea's squad for the league in nine of their 11 games.
Enzo Maresca assesses Chelsea's defense this season
The Blues have conceded 13 goals in 11 Premier League games this season and kept two clean sheets. Only five teams have conceded fewer goals than them, a point that Enzo Maresca highlighted in his pre-match press conference on Friday, November 22.
Ahead of facing Leicester City away on Saturday, Maresca spoke about rotating his fullbacks and his side's defense, saying (via Chelseafc.com):
"We change full-back depending on the way we want to play, because we use the full-backs a lot. We don’t move the central defender. Hopefully one day we can start to move the central defender, but in this moment we are moving the full-backs and probably this is the reason why we are changing them.
"But overall it is not just about the defenders, it is the way we press and we defend all together. I’ve said many times we can attack better and we can defend better, but in the Premier League there are only five clubs who have conceded less than us, so that means probably we are defending quite well."
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Liverpool. They are at the top of the UEFA Europa Conference League table after three wins in three games.
