Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly put a €25 million price tag on Federico Chiesa, who was previously linked with Liverpool. Chiesa has seemingly failed to find a place in new manager Thiago Motta's plans and could thus be sold this summer.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have put a €25 million price tag on the winger as they do not intend to extend his deal, which expires next summer. The Bianconeri would be keen to sell him in the ongoing window rather than risk losing him on a free next year.
Reporting on the Italy international's Juventus future, Romano wrote on X:
"Juventus consider price tag around €25m with add-ons included for Federico Chiesa as current deal expires in June 2025, not being extended. Juventus are prepared to sell Chiesa who's currently not part of Thiago Motta's plans, as confirmed yesterday."
Liverpool were previously linked with Chiesa, with GiveMeSport claiming the Reds were admirers of the forward and were thinking of a move. However, those rumors seem to have died down, with the Reds looking well rounded in their attack.
Chiesa, 26, on the other hand, has so far made 131 appearances for Juventus across competitions, scoring 32 and assisting 23 goals, since joining them in 2020 from Fiorentina. Last season, he played 37 matches for the club, scoring 10 and assisting three goals.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot begins preparations for next season
Liverpool appointed Dutch tactician Arne Slot as their new manager after the legendary Jurgen Klopp decided to part ways with the club this summer. Slot's preparations for the 2024-25 season are set to get underway.
The club have announced that eight senior players have reported for the pre-season and Slot will start with them before the others join in. The club announced in an official statement:
"Arne Slot’s squad’s preparations for the 2024-25 campaign are set to get under way at their Kirkby base, initially involving two groups of four players each.
"Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Sepp van den Berg will get started in the morning, followed from lunchtime by Owen Beck, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas."
Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Ipswich Town on August 17.
