West Ham United have reportedly entered the race to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The Hammers are said to be plotting a loan move for the Englishman for the rest of the season.
As per a report by journalist Ben Jacobs, Rashford has been added to West Ham's wishlist after they appointed Graham Potter at the helm of affairs. They wish to add firepower to their attack and see the Manchester United star as an ideal fit.
However, the Hammers are aware that it will be difficult to convince him to join as he is reportedly in talks with Serie A clubs as well. AC Milan are said to be leading the chase, and reports suggested that the player's entourage met the club's representatives to discuss a move.
The Red Devils are reportedly open to selling or loaning out Marcus Rashford as the forward is not a part of Ruben Amorim's plans. The forward has not played since he was dropped from the squad to face Manchester City in December 2024.
Alan Shearer urges Manchester United star Marcus Rashford to sort things out
Alan Shearer spoke to BetFair earlier this month and urged Marcus Rashford to sort things out quickly. He believes that the Manchester United star's career at Old Trafford is over, but his England career is still in his hands. He said:
"For Rashford, hard work and the correct attitude will see him get back to his best. I don’t know what’s gone on, but something must have happened for him to do that interview and say that it’s best for him to leave Old Trafford. You can’t just flick a switch and get back to your best form, we all have difficult periods where you might not be playing or can’t find the back of the net.
"There’s only one way to get through that; and that’s to get your head down, work hard and then things should change for the better. I think that it’s too early to talk about his England career - he needs to sort himself out and the club needs to sort themselves out as well. I don’t think that he can afford yet to be looking at an England career, which has gone pretty stale. He hasn’t been picked for such a long time now, and he hasn’t been playing recently, so I don’t think that anyone can entertain any England talk yet with him."
Apart from AC Milan and West Ham United, Marcus Rashford has also been linked with Como, Juventus and Napoli.
