Arsenal and Manchester United are both reported to be preparing bids for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. The Mirror believe that a bid of £20 million would prove enough to sign the German international, who is currently out of action with the cruciate ligament injury sustained in last month’s Champions League tie with AC Milan.
Given his injury status, such a move would be likely to take place in the summer, by which time the German international will be into the final year of his Real Madrid contract. Khedira had made 11 league appearances for Madrid this season before his injury, but he is now likely to miss the rest of the season and is facing a race against time to be fit for the World Cup.

Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers of Khedira, and should he recover to take up his place in the German squad then he would be joining a host of Arsenal players.
Despite the lure of playing with his good friend Mesut Ozil and international teammates Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski at Arsenal, Manchester United believe that they can convince the German to move to Old Trafford instead. Moyes struggled to add to his side this season and is keen to bolster his midfield options in the windows ahead.
