Rumour: Arsenal enquire about Juventus striker, Sebastian Giovinco

Arsenal are in talks with Juventus attacker Sebastian Giovinco over a possible transfer to North London, according to The Metro.

The pint sized 26 year-old has found opportunities difficult to come by for the Old Lady this season and has been restricted to just 9 appearances by Antonio Conte, with Juventus boasting a host of attack minded players.

The Italian giants have dropped just five points during the current campaign and changing a winning formula too frequently can prove to be detrimental.

Arsene Wenger reportedly keen to land cover for the injured Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner, with the Gunners in need of support for Olivier Giroud.

The skilful Giovinco would be a cracking option to possess as he can play as a second striker and a partenrship with a big man like Giroud could potentially be very dangerous. Giovinco’s agent has now gone on record to claim the two parties are already in discussions over the move.

“We have had contact with Arsenal. It was a request for information about his situation. There was nothing more (at the moment),” said Claudio Pasqualin.

The move is set to be a loan deal that would keep Giovinco at The Emirates until the end of the season. The former Parma and Empoli loanee is desperate for game time as he hopes to force his way into Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup plans, while Wenger is only in the market for temporary troops to replace his injured key men, so a six month loan deal could suit both player and club.

This season, Giovinco has a shot accuracy of 88%, scoring one goal.
