The young Belgian, Michy Batshuayi, has had a sparkling start to the campaign. The Standard Liege frontman has already netted 16 goals for club and country, chipping in with 5 assists, in 33 appearances so far.
Arsene Wenger, who is renowned to nurture young talents, has recently sent his scouts to watch the forward in action. He is exploring the possibility of landing the star man at the Emirates this summer.
Along with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke, he is yet another upcoming Belgian, who is gaining national recognition at dizzying rate. The 20-year old has a contract that will keep him at Liege until June 2018, which means Arsene Wenger will have to splash to cash if he were to sign the promising talent.
However, Liege president has moved quickly to assert their intention of holding on to their talisman.
“What is new is the interest of Arsenal in Michy, they’re one of the many clubs who follow our striker,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
