Rumour: Arsenal target Serge Aurier in talks with Liverpool

Arsenal target Serge Aurier has held talks with Liverpool according to the Metro.

Aurier’s general behaviour has suggested that he would love a move to Arsenal and it did seem as if the Gunners were looking at him as the replacement for the departing Bacary Sagna.

However his agent Stephane Courbis has said that “There is no agreement with Arsenal,

“We’ve talked in past but there has been nothing recently. We’re in talks with another English side.”

Courbis does not explicitly name Liverpool as the club but the Metro have suggested it is the Reds who are taking a look at Aurier.

Present incumbent at Anfield Glen Johnson has been extremely inconsistent this season and there are those within the club who think he may not be able to play at the required level.

However with Jon Flanagan progressing well this season it seems strange that Liverpool will target another young right-back.

Aurier enjoyed a sensational season for Toulouse, scoring six league goals and registering six assists as well. He has proven himself to be a very capable player with incredible stamina.

Recent reports had suggested that Arsenal were close to sealing a move to bring Aurier to the Emirates but this new information complicates things.
