Nicklas Bendtner has reportedly rejected a move to Turkish side outfit Trabzonspor, after they launched a last minute bid to sign the striker, according to the Metro.
Trabzonspor are in the market for a striker and had already been turned down by Papiss Demba Cisse on deadline day.
But Bendtner has decided to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place, having been boosted by Arsenal’s failure to sign any striking reinforcements.
Arsenal’s only signing so far on deadline day has been Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom, leaving Bendtner as the only alternative to Olivier Giroud as the lone striker for the Gunners.
Theo Walcott has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while reported moves for Alvaro Morata, Miroslav Klose, Dimitar Berbatov, Mirko Vucinic and Julian Draxler have failed to materialise, leaving Arsenal light up front.
There was no indication that Arsenal would have been willing to sell their only back-up to Giroud, but Bendtner has dismissed the move out of hand, as he wants to remain part of Arsenal’s title challenge and win a new contract with the club, as his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Bendtner has had limited time on the pitch, but has scored with two of his five shots this season, giving him a conversion rate of 40%
