Metro reports, Arsenal are set to target Getafe’s forward Ciprian Marica in January to fend off neighbour Tottenham’s bid for the Romanian.
Spurs had earlier made an offer for the Romanian international as per the Spanish media. But now it seems that their rivals have gone a step further in negotiations with the striker.
Karim Benzema and Christian Benteke were also on Arsene Wenger’s radar, but now Marica’s option would be a cheaper alternative for the Arsenal boss.
The gunners have also been boosted by Theo Walcott‘s return from injury and Wenger is not convinced he needs to spend big on a new forward in January to remain on course to win silverware.
