Reports today suggest that Arsenal are trying to send their only signing of the transfer window back, just days after making the signing.
Kim Kallstrom signed for the club on Friday in a loan deal from Spartak Moscow and is contracted to the club until the end of the season.
The Sun believe that Arsenal officials are poring over the details of his contract in order to find a way to cancel the deal and send the 31 year old back to Russia.
Kallstrom arrived at the club with a preexisting injury, which was revealed to the club’s medical staff during his medical. However whilst an initial scan concluded that the injury was only a short term one, a later scan has revealed that the Swede is set to miss up to six weeks of the season.
Arsenal signed Kallstrom as a short term fix to their current selection problems in midfield. Mathieu Flamini is currently suspended, whilst Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are both injured. At 31 the loan move was unlikely to lead to a permanent deal, meaning that the Swede is of little use to the club if he cannot fulfil the short term cover role he was signed to play.
