Rumour: Arsenal turn to Belgian sensation Christian Benteke

As Arsenal looks to dip into the market for a striker in January, 20 million pound Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, could be on top of their list.

The 22-year old has proved his pedigree as a top Premier League striker, as he blitzed his way to 19 league goals in 34 appearances for Aston Villa last campaign, which saw them avoid relegation. He has scored seven goals this season for both club and country, despite a lengthy lay-off due to injury.

The Gunners are keen to add to their attacking ranks, as star Olivier Giroud will be their only out and out striker, with Nicklas Bendtner destined to leave the club this January. The French striker looks to have gone off the boil in recent matches, compounding the problems for Arsene Wenger.

At £20 million, the beast of a striker, could prove to be a shrewd investment, as Arsenal looks to compete for silverware this season.
