Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is now expected to leave the club after he was not included in the group of players to have signed new contracts.
The Frenchman’s current deal expires in the summer and it has been widely reported that he will seek a move away from the Emirates after spending the last seven years in north London.
After criticising the club’s lack of trophies, and constantly being linked with a move away, possibly to Inter, it now seems likely that he will leave Arsenal.
He has also, apparently, told his teammates that he is leaving and after not being named as one of the key players to agree new deals with the club, he looks to be leaving.
Today, Arsenal announced that Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker had agreed new deals with the Gunners and there are reports Aaron Ramsey is to become the second-highest paid player at the club when he agrees to a new five-year contract worth £100,000 per week in the next 48 hours.
The significance of Sagna’s absence from the news breaking out of Arsenal could mean he will leave when his contract expires in the summer. It would be a big blow to Arsenal who still value the Frenchman a talented and important player at the club.
