Rumour: Barcelona plot £37 million bid for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie

Following rumors of Robin Van Persie being unsettled under new boss – David Moyes, the Catalan giants, Barcelona, are said to be readying a big money bid of £37 million, for the 30-year old.

Van Persie has been a star since his move to Old Trafford, helping United win the Premier League with 30 goals under his belt, in his debut season. Despite injury, the Dutch maestro has netted 10 goals in 14 appearances so far, this campaign.

With Lionel Messi out for a considerable amount of time through injury, Barcelona manager, Gerardo Martino, will be looking to strengthen his attack, with a proven goal scorer.

Manchester United, however, will be keen to fend off interest for their talisman, as they look to stutter their way into the top four, after a rocky start to the season. The Red Devils lie in 9th place, 13 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
