Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing Bernardo Silva, as manager Xavi wants the Portuguese star to work with Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski up front.
As per El Nacional, Xavi has asked the board to sign Silva at all costs this summer. The Blaugrana are in talks with Manchester City, who are waiting for the season to end before making a decision on the player's future.
Silva is open to leaving and wants to move to Barcelona, as per the aforementioned report. He's keen on playing in Spain, and the Blaugrana are working to seal the deal.
After the UEFA Champions League semifinal win over Real Madrid on Wednesday (May 17), Silva told RMC Sport about his future:
"My plan is to complete well the season, win the Premier League and then the two finals. … then, this summer we will see what happens."
Silva has previously hinted that he will look to leave Etihad this summer as he wants a fresh challenge, telling RECORD earlier this season:
"I'm 28 years old. I'll be 29 in the summer, and I have two more years on my Manchester City contract. My contract would end at 31. I won't hide that my goal in the coming years, if something good happens elsewhere, will probably be to move to a new project."
Apart from the Blaugrana, PSG have also shown interest in signing the Manchester City star.
Barcelona doing everything to bring Lionel Messi back
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club are doing everything they can to ensure Lionel Messi is back at the club this summer. He told Jijantes FC (as per Daily Mail):
"We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona. We are already working on next year's team. We hope to be able to reinforce the team. We are in an austerity plan at the club to be able to have enough fair play to allow us to improve the team. We are doing our homework to be able to have an even more competitive team next season."
Messi's contract at PSG expires at the end of the season, and the Argentine is reportedly not going to renew his contract. He has offers from Al Hilal and Inter Miami on his table but is yet to decide his future.
