Reports coming out of Spain suggest that the Catalan giants, Barcelona, are very close to revealing the identity of the player who is set to replace shot stopper Victor Valdes, who will leave this summer.
The Spanish outfit are being heavily linked with a move for on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, with the player admitting that a move to the Camp Nou would be too attractive to turn down.
Among other names, German international Marc-Andre ter Stegen raised speculation after the 21-year old turned down a contract extention with current club, Borussia Monchengladbach, with a view to possibly join Gerardo Martino at Bercelona this summer.
In a statement to the El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed they are ‘close’ to their target.
He said, “We have not finalised an agreement with the goalkeeping replacement for Victor Valdes, although we are very close,”
