Rumour: Barcelona eyeing Thiabut Courtois as Valdes replacement

The Atletico Madrid shot stopper is continuously being monitored by Barcelona as they might possibly try to lure him from Atletico Madrid where he is currently on loan from Chelsea. Thibaut Courtois might soon be on his way to Camp Nou to replace the outgoing Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

As per reports in TotalBarca, Barcelona and Courtois are willing to let the operation go forward but there will be obstacles in the way for the transfer to take place. Chelsea FC still are unclear on the transfer speculation and owning the total rights of the player, the future of this transfer still remains indefinite. Chelsea would let go of the Belgian keeper only for a bid of around €20 million.

Thibaut Courtois has impressed at Atletico Madrid having saved 29 shots in 17 games and keeping 8 clean sheets. Barcelona will face stiff competition from Atletico Madrid in signing the talented 21 year old goalkeeper.

Borussia Monchengladbach‘s goalkeeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen and also Celtic’s goalkeeper Fraser Foster are also linked with a move to Barcelona to replace Victor Valdes who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
