As per Metro’s reports, Reigning European champions, Bayern Munich have plans to bring in Arsenal and German defender Per Mertesacker.
Mertesacker moved to Arsenal from Werder Bremen in 2011 and has established himself as a crucial part of Arsene Wenger’s back four.
In order to retain the defender, Arsenal have already decided to offer Mertesacker a fresh contract.
Wenger was quoted: “We are in the process of talking [with Mertesacker], yes. He has one and a half years to go on his current contract, so that is a long time.”
It is believed Mertesacker will sign two-year extension, plus an increase on his £75,000-a-week wages.
