Rumour: Borussia Dortmund ready to swap Gundogan for Benzema

Swap deal on the cards?

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is willing to sell midfielder Ilkay Gundogan in order to buy Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. There are rumours of a possible swap deal according to German newspaper Bild.

Dortmund will be without a recognized striker as Polish international Robert Lewandowski will join rivals Bayern for free in the summer after agreeing a 5 year pre-contract.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Karim Benzema as the ideal player to replace Lewandowski.

Benzema is yet to convince the Bernabeu faithful after inconsistent performances and Ancelotti might sell the striker if a good deal arrives.
