Porto star striker Jackson Martinez will decide on his future in the summer as Chelsea are interested in making a £25 million bid, according to talkSPORT.
The Colombian striker is one of the most highly-sought after strikers in European football and could be the next player on a long list to leave Porto for a huge transfer fee.
Speculation over the 27-year-old’s future has grown in light of Porto’s domestic struggles this term. They are currently third in the Portuguese league table, 15 points behind leaders Benfica, who play in the Europa League quarter-finals this week.
Sources in Italy have claimed Roma are extremely interested over a switch to the Stadio Olimpico but his agent Manuel Manso insists such talk is wide of the mark.
“At the moment there is not any kind of negotiation for Jackson Martinez,” he said onTMW.
“Until May we will not talk with any team. He’s focused on the end of the season with Porto – once the championship is finished we will see.”
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could see Martinez as one of the solutions for his much-publicised attacking problems.
The Colombian has scored 18 league goals in 26 games this season and is valued at around £25 million. Mourinho is also looking at Atletico Madrid’s star striker Diego Costa but could cost a lot more than Porto are demanding for Martinez.
