Rumour: Chelsea close to contract extension with Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea on the verge of agreeing a 5 year extension with Thibaut Courtois

According to Evening Standard, Chelsea are on the verge of agreeing a 5-year contract with Thibaut Courtois. The reports claim that a new deal is very close and its only the salary which is the cause of this delay. His current salary is said to be £30,000-a-week.

Courtois currently has 2 years left on his contract and Chelsea want him to sign a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2019.

Courtious is also said to be asking for assurances that he will get the opportunity to compete with Petr Cech after coming back from loan. Its also being said that Chelsea want to loan him out for at least one more season.
