Chelsea could be prepared to offer Toni Kroos a new route out of Bayern Munich after it emerged that the German midfielder has become a target for the London club.
El Confidencial in Spain report that whilst Manchester United and Real Madrid were leading the chase for the 24 year old Bayern Munich midfielder Chelsea have now entered the race. Kroos is currently preparing for the World Cup with Germany but any deal wouldn’t take place until the midfielder’s contract expiry in the summer of 2015.
Chelsea could be prepared to offer the German wages as high as £130,000 per week in order to fulfill Jose Mourinho’s wish of pairing Kroos with new Chelsea signing Cesc Fabregas in a new look Chelsea midfield.
The former Barcelona midfielder signed for Chelsea just before the World Cups started as Mourinho signaled his intent to bolster Chelsea’s ranks in preparation for a Premier League title assault next season.
If Kroos chooses not to join Chelsea, Mourinho already has a number of other targets lined up including PSG’s Marco Verratti, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal of Juventus and Manchester United target William Carvalho.
With a performance score of 965 only Eden Hazard (1,298) and John Terry (987) had a higher performance score of Chelsea players than Toni Kroos last season.
