Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will be looking forward to re-unite with his former team goalkeeper, Diego Lopez. The Real Madrid shot-stopper will be a deputy for Chelsea’s legendary goalkeeper, Petr Cech.
As per reports in InsideSpanishFootball.com, Lopez is said to be content at his boyhood club and has no desire to move, while Mourinho is biding his time until Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, returns to the club as a long-term goalkeeper and also Mark Schwarzer will be running out of contract at the end of the season.
Mourinho was so impressed with Diego Lopez’s performance at Real Madrid that he chose him over the legendary Spanish goalkeeper, Iker Casillas. Diego Lopez had completed his move from Sevilla to Real Madrid in January 2013 after Iker Casillas had suffered an injury.
The move of the Spanish shot-stopper will depend on Thibaut Courtois’s availability at Chelsea. The 21-year-old Belgian looks forward to complete a permanent move to Atletico Madrid. Barcelona will also look forward to sign Thibaut Courtois to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes.
