Zenit St. Petersburg striker Hulk has fuelled speculation that he could join Chelsea in the summer after posting a photograph of himself on a plane to London from his official Instagram account.
The Russian outfit have recently sacked their manager Luciano Spalletti just a week before their Champions League last 16 second leg tie with Borussia Dortmund.
The caption of Hulk’s post translates as “Going to work in London. With my manager and friend #Teo” but with no football to be played in London during midweek it is unclear precisely what the Brazilian forward has planned for his trip.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea for a number of years but there is still no evidence that he is set for talks with the Portuguese during his stay in England’s capital.
However, with Spalletti out of the picture, Hulk may become unsettled with life in Russia despite making a £32 million to Zenit as recently as 2012, with a host of European heavyweights believed to be prepared to tempt him to make a move.
Mourinho has highlighted the need for a new striker in his squad due to the combined failure of Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba this season, with a marquee signing widely expected to be sanctioned by owner Roman Abramovich in the close season.
