Chelsea are planning to make a £40 million bid for Juventus’ Paul Pogba. The former Manchester United midfielder has been the target of the Red Devils and Manchester City as well, but the Blues are confident of landing the French International signature and bring him to Stamford Bridge.
The London club will reportedly balance the transfer with a swap deal involving either Ramires or Andre Schurrle. Pogba was signed by Manchester United for the U18 team in October 2009 from the youth squad of Le Havre.
He made his Premier League debut with the Red Devils against Stoke City in January 2012. But in the same year, Pogba moved to Juventus on a free transfer and has been playing with the Serie A club ever since.
Pogba is tied to the club with a contract until 2019 and has been valued at €50 million. In 2014, the midfielder was awarded the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player award and Italian magazine Guerin Sportivo honoured him with the “Bravo Award”.
During his career at Juventus, he has scored 21 goals in 117 appearances. In a recent interview, he revealed that he wanted to be the best player in the world and hoped for the prestigious Ballon D’Or in the near future.
