Chelsea are prepared to offer Romelu Lukaku a deal for next season according to the Evening Standard, following a successful loan spell with Everton this season.
However, the Blues will be willing to loan the Belgium international frontman back to Everton to inflate his transfer market value.
This comes days after Chelsea’s reported agreement to trigger Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa’s £32 million release clause., with some suggestions that Lukaku will be offered to Atletico Madrid as a makeweight.
Lukaku, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht for £18m three years ago, scored 16 Premier League goals in 31 appearances for the Toffees.
Lukaku is reportedly against moving to Spain, while Atleti are willing to sit down and talk with the striker in a bid to come to a resolution.
Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez’s side are believed to be ready to spend their entire summer budget, a figure in the region of £2om, to secure the permanent services of the Belgian.
Lukaku himself is expected to make a decision on his future upon returning from the summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Lukaku scored 15 goals and created 32 chances in the Premier League this season.
