Reports suggest Jose Mourinho and Chelsea are setting their sights on Everton stars - Leighton Baines and Ross Barkley in a bumper deal this January transfer window. The Blues are ready to offer £25 million plus Romelu Lukaku to secure the pair.

The duo have been massive players for Everton this season, which has seen them go up to 4th in the Premier League, ahead of fierce rivals Liverpool.

Long time Manchester United target, Leighton Baines is arguably the best left back in England at present, and has proven himself over a considerable amount of time. The 29-year old is at the peak of his powers, and will be tempted by the prospect of playing the UEFA Champions League.

Ross Barkley, on the other hand, has seen his stock rise considerably with his performances in the Premier League so far. The young midfielder has become one of the hottest prospects in world football, and is considered the all round package with pace, strength, trickery and vision.

With Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard nearing the end of their glittering careers, Mourinho sees the two to be their perfect replacement. However, as Everton try to break into the top 4 this campaign, Roberto Martinez will be stubborn to hold on to his stars, albeit until next summer.
