Chelsea and Real Madrid remain interested in Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney despite his apparent happiness at the club, report The Metro.
The Englishman looked set to leave the club in the summer after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson but Rooney was kept at the club by David Moyes who has used him as his focal point in attack this season.
Jose Mourinho apparently wanted Rooney in the summer to play as his central striker but, having missed out on him, the Chelsea squad are lacking goals so Mourinho may well come in for him again in January.
Rooney is yet to enter contract talks with United. Apparently, Real Madrid have asked him to refrain from entering talks so they can sign the 28-year-old at the cut-price fee in the summer.
The forward will command a weekly wage of around £200,000 taking him into theprime of his career.
Wayne Rooney has created 35 chances this term, getting eight assists. No Man United player has created more than him.
