The Daily Mirror reports, Chelsea are looking to cash in on rising star Romelu Lukaku to fund the transfer PSG striker Edinson Cavani in their search of an accomplished striker.
The young Beligian has seen his stock rise rapidly over the last 12 months with a successful loan spell at West brom last season where he scored 17 goals to save the club from relegation. This season, too, the 18 year old has been fantastic for Everton, propelling them into a possible Champions League position.
However, Jose Mourinho does not seem comfortable playing Lukaku despite notable concerns in the striking department for Chelsea. The Portuguese manager is planning to sell the 30 million pound rated forward and subsequently lure the Uruguayan goal scoring machine Edinson Cavani to Stamford Bridge.
Although Diego Costa is Chelsea’s primary target, should they fail to capture him, a move for the former Napoli forward Edinson Cavani might well be on. However, Manchester United, too, are said to be interested in the 26-year old, who could prove to be a serious obstacle for the Londoners.
