Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their efforts in signing in-form Atletico Madrid striker – Diego Costa. The Blues are reportedly set to use young goal-keeper Thibaut Courtois as bait.

Diego Costa has been arguably the best player in Europe so far, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez. The forward has been linked with many high profile clubs this transfer window, of which Chelsea look favourites.

The striker has scored 19 goals in 17 appearances in the La Liga, propelling his team into second place, 5 points ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid. Thibaut Courtois, on the other hand, who is on loan from Chelsea, has been a rock at the back for Atletico Madrid, and has seen his name reach new heights following steady performances in goal.

Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, is keen to hold on to the Belgian shot stopper, which may work in favour of Chelsea if they wish to land the Spanish goal scoring machine, to solve their current crisis in front of goal.
