Chelsea have reportedly asked Barcelona to include Alexis Sanchez and Alex Song in the deal for David Luiz, if the Catalan giants want to pull off the transfer of Brazilian star David Luiz.
Barcelona have been chasing Luiz for a number of months now and their interest has heated up following Puyol’s decision to leave the club and Javier Mascherano’s future hanging in the air, which leaves the Spanish giants short in defence.
Luiz has refused to comment on speculation and the defender, who was called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad, may only make the move to Barcelona if Sanchez and Song are allowed to come to west London, according to Marca.
Chelsea are looking to get €35 million for the player, but Barcelona are unwilling to pay such a high price so Jose Mourinho and co. have come up with a solution that may suit both parties.
Alex Song has failed to fit into the Barcelona side since his move from Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez has struggled to get to grips with the first-team this season, with manager Tata Martino preferring the likes of Messi, Pedro and Neymar in a front-three.
Mourinho is keen to bolster the middle of the park with Frank Lampard’s future up in the air and he is also keen to reinforce his striking department, with the likes of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o struggling this season, meaning Alexis Sanchez and Alex Song could be deemed perfect fits for the club.
