Belgium and Lille striker Divock Origi will jet into Liverpool this week to discuss terms with the Reds, after a deal in the region of £9.8 million was agreed over the weekend.
Origi will be almost certainly loaned out to Lille for the 2014/15 season, but Rodgers has seen the talent in the 19-year-old after his impressive performances for Belgium at the World Cup.
According to the Independent, Origi will meet Brendan Rodgers this week and discuss terms with the Northern Irishman, before Rodgers sends the youngster back out to Ligue 1 to gain more experience.
There were reports that Real Madrid may gatecrash the Origi deal, but it seems too little too late from Carlo Ancelotti as the talented striker edges closer to a move to Merseyside.
Origi did well for Belgium at the World Cup, with Marc Wilmots opting for him ahead of Romelu Lukaku at times with the Chelsea striker failing to recreate his club form on the international stage.
Lukaku will look to win his place in the Chelsea squad ahead of the new season, although his future is still under scrutiny with Jose Mourinho not a big fan.
