Rumour: English giants turned down by Pedro; plans to remain at Barcelona

Getafe CF v FC Barcelona - La Liga

Pedro Unhappy with the offers!

Barcelona winger, Pedro Rodríguez is very sure he wants to stay at the Catalan club. The Spaniard, who on Friday confirmed the news, said that he has no interest in the offers he has on the table from English clubs.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal had all previously expressed an interest in signing him, hoping to take advantage of how little first-team action he has seen since the beginning of the season. However, their interest has been re-kindled in recent weeks due to his performances on the pitch. Pedro has scored 7 goals in his last five games.

“I plan to remain at Barcelona”

“I’m happy and relaxed at Barça. I plan to remain at this club and at the end of the season be able to say that things have gone well for me,” said the forward. “I hope to stay here and win the league. Our goal is to not drop any more points and be challenging for silverware at the business end of the season,” he said.

Pedro’s performances have been similar to those during his first season at Barcelona (2008-09) when he scored in every competition and helped Guardiola’s side win every title possible. The Spaniard has made the most of Messi’s lengthy absence to rediscover his appetite for goal and cement a place in the starting XI, convincing Tata Martino of his worth after the coach had initially preferred chilean Alexis Sanchez. Pedro has notched up 14 goals so far this season, 10 of which have come in the league, making him and Messi Barça’s joint top goalscorers.

His shots to goal stats are better than those of Diego Costa, Mandzukic and even Cristiano Ronaldo. Pedro finds the back of the net with 37% of his shots.
