Everton are reportedly preparing a £10 million bid for Chelsea’s Demba Ba in order to replace the outgoing Romelu Lukaku who is expected to return to Stamford Bridge after impressing on loan with the Merseysiders.
The Senegalese striker was having a stellar season with Newcastle United where he bagged 13 goals in 22 appearances which earned him a move to Chelsea but his Premier League career hit the pause button with the London club. Despite his dip in form Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is confident that Ba will regain his good form at Everton.
Ba, who scored vital goals against Liverpool and PSG last month, has been told he can leave Chelsea this summer as the club want to bring in more world class strikers.
The 28-year-old may fancy a move to Goodison Park as he recently admitted that he was looking to leave the Blues due to lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho.
Everton will face some competition for Ba’s signature as West Brom, Arsenal, West Ham and Fenerbahce are also eyeing the striker.
