Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin’s loan deal with German club Freiburg could be cut short, according to reports in France.
The Arsenal midfielder is meant to be spending the full season on loan at Freiburg but L’Equipe claim the loan could be cut short as it has not worked out to the effect that the club would have liked.
It is thought that the German club would like to cancel the loan deal and send the young Frenchman back to London.
Coquelin has made just 13 appearances this term and was voted the third-worst signing in the Bundesliga by newspaper Bild.
So it seems he will be returning to Arsenal but a run in the team seems even more unlikely there as Arsene Wenger already has Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini to pick from to play in central midfield.
Coquelin made his debut for Arsenal in the 8-2 drubbing my Manchester United back in August 2011 and has struggled to make a significant impact at the club since.
Another deal may well be lined up for the Frenchman should he come back from Germany earlier than previously anticipated.
