Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan star – Fredy Guarin. The Blues have been heavily linked with the midfielder as they look to find an able replacement for Frank Lampard, who is in the twilight of his career.
Fredy Guarin’s agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, has confirmed that talks with the North London club are on going.
“We have already been to London with Inter and met with Chelsea directors to make their interest formal,” he told Colombian network Caracol Radio.
Marcelo Ferreyra also confirmed that the 27-year old is open to a move to Stamford Bridge, however, if the deal fell through, he is happy to remain at the San Siro.
He said, “If both clubs reach an agreement, a transfer is an option, but Fredy is happy at Inter as well if they don’t agree terms”
This comes as a blow to Manchester United, as they too were believed to keen on the Columbian international. Fredy Guarin has been impressive this season, scoring 3 and assisting 10 in 18 appearances in all competitions.
