Rumour: Javier Pastore plays down talk of move to Liverpool

Javier Pastore in action for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain creative midfielder Javier Pastore has snubbed interest from long time admirers Liverpool FC. Brendan Rodgers, who failed in his attempt to land Henri Mkhitaryan and Willian, had earmarked Pastore to bring that flare in midfield that the Merseysiders have been crying out for.

The 24-year-old was one of the first big money signings at PSG, but has seen limited first team football since. However, he was quick to dismiss all reports suggesting he could leave Paris in the transfer window.

“I was the first to sign for this club and will be the last to leave,” said Pastore.

He has also ruled out a move back to Italy, where he played his trade as a youngster for Palemro for two years.

“Everything [that has been said] is wrong and has nothing to do with reality. Will I return to Italy? Only to go to the movies or see my friends,” he added.
